چکیده

In this work, we study the problem of detecting risk-averse low-diameter clusters, modeled as k-clubs, in graphs. It is assumed that the uncertainty of the information associated with vertices is shown by stochastic weights, whose joint distribution is known. The goal is to find a k-club of minimum risk contained in the graph. A stochastic programming framework that is based on the formalism of coherent risk measures is used to find the corresponding cluster. The selected representation of risk of a cluster ensures that the optimal solutions are maximal k-clubs. A combinatorial branch-and-bound algorithm is proposed and solution performances are compared with an equivalent mathematical programming approach for instances with k D 2; 3; and 4.

On risk-averse maximum weighted subgraph problems

In this work, we consider a class of risk-averse maximum weighted subgraph problems (RMWSP). Namely, assuming that each vertex of the graph is associated with a stochastic weight, such that the joint distribution is known, the goal is to obtain a subgraph of minimum risk satisfying a given hereditary property. We employ a stochastic programming framework that is based on the formalism of modern...

The robust vertex centdian location problem with interval vertex weights on general graphs

In this paper, the robust vertex centdian  location  problem with uncertain vertex weights on general graphs is studied. The used criterion to solve the problem is the min-max  regret criterion. This problem  is  investigated  with objective function contains $lambda$  and  a polynomial time algorithm for the problem is presented. It is shown that the vertex centdian problem on general graphs i...

A Risk-averse Inventory-based Supply Chain Protection Problem with Adapted Stochastic Measures under Intentional Facility Disruptions: Decomposition and Hybrid Algorithms

Owing to rising intentional events, supply chain disruptions have been considered by setting up a game between two players, namely, a designer and an interdictor contesting on minimizing and maximizing total cost, respectively. The previous studies have found the equilibrium solution by taking transportation, penalty and restoration cost into account. To contribute further, we examine how incor...

Splice Graphs and their Vertex-Degree-Based Invariants

Let G_1 and G_2 be simple connected graphs with disjoint vertex sets V(G_1) and V(G_2), respectively. For given vertices a_1in V(G_1) and a_2in V(G_2), a splice of G_1 and G_2 by vertices a_1 and a_2 is defined by identifying the vertices a_1 and a_2 in the union of G_1 and G_2. In this paper, we present exact formulas for computing some vertex-degree-based graph invariants of splice of graphs.

On reverse degree distance of unicyclic graphs

The reverse degree distance of a connected graph $G$ is defined in discrete mathematical chemistry as [ r (G)=2(n-1)md-sum_{uin V(G)}d_G(u)D_G(u), ] where $n$, $m$ and $d$ are the number of vertices, the number of edges and the diameter of $G$, respectively, $d_G(u)$ is the degree of vertex $u$, $D_G(u)$ is the sum of distance between vertex $u$ and all other vertices of $G$, and $V(G)$ is the...
